always learning

So with the downtime I got with no real computer to work off of I’ve been focusing on the company itself along with the personal projects. I’ve spent a lot of time reading and realizing the things I need to change for the 2010 Time Attack season, plus changes in general of how I work to help serve clients better. I’ve also been doing a lot of thinking on the website too, it’s been a long time since I’ve really thought about it and with that I’m sure I’ve missed plenty of clients. 2010 in general should be a great year with a lot of new exciting things going on, cant wait! Keep on shooting!

One shot from my photo lesson

So I've reach a point where I've realized there are no trade secrets in this industry anymore. Anyone with a digital camera and internet can learn how to do photography nowadays. That being said I've felt the need to teach some of those that I feel need help, because its not longer about how much you know but how hard you're willing to work for it. The other part is that by teaching someone it give you a chance to really think hard about how you see things so you're able to explain them, also just the great vibe you get with shoot with someone.

So this particular photographer, seemed to struggle with night photography and learning how to use the light that was around him. You dont need strobe at all to pull of a great shot, just patients to try many things and many angles. You'll never know you might end up with!

now video?

so having no desktop really has put a damper on getting those creative juices going. I've been finding that I no longer have that drive and looking for somthing new. I hope to set a few goals for the next year to focus on getting done #1 being that I MUST go out and shoot. I also plan on trying to get into some video, partly because of the new flip camera I got. Here's the first video with my primative editing....

forgot about this one

so I gave up on repairing the last truck as winter was getting near and picked up a new one. Still not the most pretty thing to shoot, but it works.

this was acutally 3 shots with just one strobe, no editing outside of layering

Since I've never posted the last truck...

holy shit

I've been dragging ass, needless to say my crash with RTA kinda put a damper on things. So much to catch up on though, I've had the urge to dust of the camera again to do more.... until my desktop took a dump. Needless to say I plan on shooting still, it just might be longer till I update flickr with more shots. Till then...

after Nashville comes depression

First off lets start with all the photos from Nashville...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/budskiphotography/sets/72157621870256848/

Now Nashville was one of my best and worst events. It was such a blast, loads of action, lots of cars, and even a few curve balls to keep things interesting for the drivers. On top of it all I pick up many new clients, which its nice to see that I can actually make some cash off of this.

It was also full of drama with Redline Time Attack organizers, which caused me to realize a few things. 1 being that I don't ever want to feel like I'm working for someone as an employee. 2 is that I need to make sure I always one all rights on my images 3. too much work makes this job no fun which will also makes it boring. To be honest it makes me very pissed off with how RTA treated me and tempted to throw in the towel all together.

I'm not 100% sure on what my next steps are, I do know I want to keep working on photographing these races but also using it to teach myself new things.
